You are a high-performer.
You know you are capable of achieving great results, and you hold yourself to a higher standard.
You continue to apply effort daily in an attempt to grow, evolve, and level up your life. You are taking the necessary steps, and you are disciplined.
This is the identity you've created for yourself, and anything less than that will not suffice. You're not going to accept poor results, and you're definitely not going to accept mediocrity.
One day, you wake up and realize it's becoming harder to perform at a high level. Slowly, you begin to lose motivation, and you wonder why. You say, "This isn't who I am, this isn't in my DNA, I know I'm capable of achieving more. Why am I having such a difficult time showing up, and performing at a high level?"
This process can happen very quickly, especially if we allow inertia to take over. If we are not careful to take a step back and reflect on our lives to gain a deeper awareness of how we've gotten to where we're at, we start to give our energy over to external circumstances. We actually feel as though we are losing control over our life, over our day-to-day decisions and behaviors.
Once we become aware, it's important to begin shifting our behaviors into greater alignment with what we can control. This list is much smaller, and includes our attitude, effort, and actions.
Outside of that, we really don't have much control over the outcome. We get to choose how we want to show up each and every day. Do you really want to be mediocre? Do you really want somebody else, or society to dictate the way you live your life? Have you been living this way? When are you going to wake up and declare yourself as the owner of your life?
We cannot rely on outside forces to take care of this for us. It starts with the internal cleanup:
Less checking, more checking in.
Less reacting, more responding.
Less consuming, more creating.
Once we are able to tap back into our true essence, we begin to realize that we've always been in the driver's seat. You do not need to be the passenger on the ride of your life. You get to choose where you want to go, what you want to do, who you're going to be.
Ultimately, through these daily decisions, you end up becoming the person who is a result of those daily decisions.
Two choices: Will we choose to worship the God of Opinion, or the God of Our Heart?
The choice is yours. Clean the slate, choose day one, and go out and make it happen.
Love this! Thanks for sharing, Connor!
